Initial investigations and research. (Coming Soon)
Twenty twenty marks Eddie Bauer’s 100th anniversary. During that time, the company has built a legacy of exploration and innovation. From creating highly functional outdoor gear, to outfitting countless expeditions around the world, Eddie’s goal remains the same: to inspire and equip people to experience the outdoors.
With its wide array of product lines over the past 100 years (including home goods and even Ford Broncos in the 90s!), the company that was all about finding your way in the outdoors seems to have lost its way in the market. Working within Eddie's current brand, my aim was to highlight the company's inpirational past in order to help consumers associate the current brand with daring adventure.
The original outcome was going to be an interactive, in-store kiosk that allowed customers to explore the company's rich history. Due to the COVID lockdown, the final outcome became a page nested within the Eddie Bauer website, allowing users to be inspired for their next outdoor excursion from the safety of their homes.
NOTE ON social media
Eddie's social media posts will include what I like to call "Eddie Sightings," which work to foster continued interest in the Basecamp, and highlight events that might have been overlooked. Eddie Bauer followers are also encouraged to tag the company in their own "sightings" to show how they're using Eddie gear in their own backyards with a chance of being featured in the company's story.
